History and Purpose of the Foundation
The Lady Legacy Scholarship Foundation (LLSF) was established in 1999 as a 501(c) (3) entity to serve the counties of Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Tuscaloosa, and Walker. It is the mission of the Lady Legacy Scholarship Foundation to pursue excellence in golf and in education.
To that end and in partnership with the Ladies Birmingham Golf Association, the LLSF serves:
◾To provide scholarships to deserving young women who are pursuing baccalaureate degrees at accredited colleges and universities in Alabama.
◾To make grants to primarily high school and middle schools to help start or maintain girls golf teams.
◾To conduct the annual Lady Legacy Metro Championship held to identify the women's amateur golf champion of the counties of Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.
The Lady Legacy Metro Championship is the chief fund-raising arm of the LLSF. Donations and sponsors are solicited from individual and business sources. Donations are tax deductible. Tax receipts are provided.
